This is Tarrik.

I met him recently, and let me just say, we get along famously. He’s very sweet, and a jewel of a person.

As we were talking with each other, I learned a few things about him… He lives inAustralia. He listens to dubstep. He worries about hurting people’s feelings.

He only has three people he’d call friends, myself included, and none of us live anywhere near him. He has crippling depression that he can’t handle. He can’t take regular medication for it because he OD’d on it 4 years ago. He can’t sleep, and when he does, he has nightmares where he’s ripped to pieces.

And he wants to commit suicide.

I want to help my friend.

I do not want to lose someone because he couldn’t handle it himself and he didn’t have anyone to turn to.

I do not want to just stand while he is falling.

So I said, “Move here.” I live in Colorado. He told me that he could get thrown in jail for even buying marihuana inAustralia. He also told me it’s the only thing he’s found so far that makes him feel level, helps him sleep, helps him cope with his feelings. InColoradomedical marijuana is legal. I want him to come here where he will have me, and in having me, he will have all of my friends as well. I want him to come here where he can at least get medicine to help him keep from feeling like he’s swallowed in a black pit. Where there are mountains, cities, quaint towns, snow, sunlight, and variety.

I want him to come somewhere new and start over where he will have more than he has now to live for.

I looked up one way tickets, and I was shocked to find that they seem to run around $2000 if you buy them four months out.

I can not do this myself. I have trouble buying groceries at the end of the month or gas to get to work. I need help helping him.

And I never thought I would find myself doing this… but if I could find enough people to help me, I’m sure we could help get him to a better life. Neither of us can do it alone, so for both of us, I am reaching out to you. Please, please donate so we can buy his plane ticket. Once he is here, he will stay with me and some of my friends until he finds a job and a place to live. I will help him study for citizenship.

Even donating a dollar would be immensely helpful. Even donating by reblogging this would help us both more than I can say. Please share this and help me start a new life for someone who feels that he has nowhere else to go.
